Cabbage Kootu is a simple, healthy and quick vegetable side dish. Cabbage is a very healthy green leafy vegetable. It is good to include it in your diet once in a while. Lets see the recipe which is very simple yet delicious.

Ingredients
Cabbage - 1 small (finely chopped)
Moong Dal - 3 tablespoons
Jalapeno or Green Chilli - 2 to 3 (Each sliced into two pieces lengthwise)
Canola Oil - 1 tablespoon
Salt - to taste
For Tempering
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tablespoon
Cumin seeds -1/4 tablespoon
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tablespoon
Fennel seeds - 1/4 tablespoon
Method
1. Soak the Moong Dal for 20 mins.
2. In a hot pan add a tablespoon of canola oil and add the ingredients for tempering and saute for a minute. Then add the Jalapenos and soaked Moong Dal and saute for another minute.
3. Add the finely chopped cabbage and salt and cook for 20 mins until the cabbage is soft. It goes best with Dal Rice, Rasam Rice or Curd rice or eat it as such as a vegetable.
