Finger Millet (Raagi) Flour is very healthy being rich in iron and dietary fiber and low on fat. We all know the benefits of oats which s low in fat and sodium and high in dietary fiber. The combination of oats and Raagi is extremely healthy especially if you are watching on the intake of carbs. I make this often when i want to make a quick dinner. It is extremely simple and healthier unlike the traditional India Dosa.
Serves : 3
Approximate Total Cost : $2
Ingredients
Raagi Flour - 1 cup
Old Fashioned Oats - 1 cup
Urad Dal - 1 cup (You can soak it overnight or use it directly without soaking - It still works best either ways)
Water - 3 cups
Salt - a pinch
Canola Oil cooking Spray
Method
1. Add the Raagi Flour, Oats, Urad Dal, Salt and Water in mixie and blend it to form a batter as shown in the figure below.
2. Spray a nonstick pan with Canola Oil Cooking Spray and laddle a spoon full of the batter on the pan in the same way as we make a pancake or dosa.
3. Cover it with a lid and cook for 4 mins on low heat(4) to make crispy dosas. I use an electic stove, these figures might differ if you use any other kind of stove.
4. Once the dosa is cooked, remove it from the pan. For the next dosa i don't spray cooking oil. I spray cooking oil once for every three dosas. Serve it with spicy chutney.
