As a child growing up in India, my mom used to give me Mango milkshakes during the summer season. It tastes so good with the richness of the milk and the fresh mango flavor. Nowadays I like to make a lighter drink by using yogurt. This Mango Lassi doesn't take more than 10 minutes to prepare. This serves as a yummy dessert drink especially after an Indian meal. But I just like to have it anytime during the day. It is so refreshing.
Serves : 4
Approximate Total Cost : $4.20
Approximate Cost per person : $1.05
Ingredients
Fresh Ripe Mangoes - 3 (peeled and diced)
Agave Nectar - 2 tablespoons (adjust according to the sweetness of the mangoes) - You can use honey if you don't have agave nectar
TIP* Agave Nectar is a healthy alternative to sugar and has much lower glycemic index.
Yogurt - 1lb
Cold Water - 1 cup
Method
1. First add the mangoes in the blender and blend well to form a smooth paste.
2. Now add the yogurt and water and agave nectar and blend well. Chill and serve by pouring into glasses.
For a Variation I tried the same with strawberries and it was heavenly!!!!!!!
Replace the mangoes with 15 strawberries(ensure you take off the green leaves from the strawberry top) and follow the same procedure above.
