Baked Salmon

I cook non veg occasionally at home! This is the 4th time I am cooking fish at home in 1.5 years. That is my frequency! I am more than satisfied with the vegetarian dishes that I cook but I do like to cook some fish and chicken dishes here and there!

So once I tasted a sample of baked salmon topped with a hot pineapple sauce in the grocery store and I liked it! So I bought the sauce and thought will try at home once! I baked the salmon with my own twists of adding some garlic and lemon flavor into it.

Serves : 2
Approximate Total Cost : $13.00
Approximate Cost per person : $6.50

Ingredients

Salmon - 3 pieces
Lemon - 1 (cut into thin circles)
Garlic - 3 cloves
Salt - to taste
Pepper - to taste
Oregano - to taste
Low fat butter - 3 tablespoons
Canola oil spray

Method

1. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray it with canola oil spray.
2. Wash the salmon with tumeric. Place the salmon pieces in the baking sheet with skin side down.
3. Rub salt, pepper and oregano on the top and side of the salmon pieces.
4. Top it with with the garlic cloves, butter and lemon.
5. Preheat oven to 450F. Bake the Salmon for 15 mins. Then remove the salmon from the oven and discard the garlic and lemon.

6. Use a spatula to transfer the fish from the baking dish to the plate. Insert the spatula just right above the skin and take out the salmon piece and place it in a plate. The skin(to be discarded) sticks to the foil and the fish comes out easily and is ready to serve.
7. Serve hot with any of the following sides
